12pm to 1.30pm, Thursday 7 April, Room 218, Students Union Building, Victoria University's Kelburn Campus, Wellington
You are warmly welcomed to join Green MP Kevin Hague for a film screening and a discussion around the campaign to save the Mokihinui River from hydro dam development. Public welcome as well as student body. The Mokihinui River, on the South Island's West Coast, has been identified as one of New Zealand's most valuable wild rivers. The river is under threat from an 85m hydro-electricity dam proposed by Meridian Energy. Kevin will screen A Tale of Two Rivers and excerpts from Craig Potton's Rivers TV series, followed by a discussion on the Mokihinui, the proposed dam and what you can do to stop it.
